1. Identify and describe at least two ways executive functioning deficits cause long-term challenges in independent psychosocial and/or adaptive functioning.
2. Compare and contrast executive functioning profiles commonly associated with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.
3. Explain how significant executive dysfunction may be considered within Category 5 eligibility for Lanterman Services.
Dr. Esralew's Bio: Dr. Lucille Esralew is a licensed Psychologist, Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist and Certified Dementia
Practicioner. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Columbia University in 1999 and her post-graduate certification in Clinical Neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate University in 2009. She is also a Master Trainer
of the National Task Group (NTG) Dementia Capable Caregiving Curriculum.
Dr. Esralew serves on the Board of the NTG for
Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia Practices and spearheaded the development of the National Task Group–Early Detection Screen for Dementia. She is the co-chair of NTG’s Applied Research and Clinical Health
committee and co-chair of NTG’s Advisory Body. She is on the Board of UCP of Oregon and serves on NADD’s Clinical Certification Subcommittee. She has also served
as Senior Psychologist Supervisor for California’s Department of Developmental Services since 2022 and is currently Branch Chief for Clinical Services within DDS’s Statewide Clinical Services Division.
Dr. Esralew maintains a part-time telehealth psychology practice. She has 30 years of experience working with individuals of all ages with neurodevelopmental disorders and 50 years of experience working with individuals who are aging with neurocognitive
disorders. She co-authored the Family Crisis Handbook (2009), the Updated Family Crisis Handbook (2019), and the newest edition, the Enhanced Family Crisis Handbook: A Behavioral Health Wellness Toolkit (2020).
